Rowcliffe Park is a 2 hectare community park located within the Central Green Comprehensive Development project, a City-led mixed-use redevelopment of the former Kelowna Secondary School site in the south central Kelowna neighbourhood. Outland Design was retained by the City of Kelowna during the Central Green planning process to undertake a masterplan process for the park, which included the development of three concept design options and a public consultation process to receive feedback. A preferred concept was chosen by the public and included a common turf area with space for a future sportsfield, a perimeter walking path, entry plazas, community gardens, washroom building, playground and spray park, multi-use sport court, outdoor stage and heritage garden. Outland Design also prepared a preliminary park design report which expanded on some of the conceptual ideas generated at the masterplan stage. The park is currently in design development, and will be constructed, budget permitting, in 2012.
