Fiona Barton, MA (Hons) MBCSLA, CSLA – Firm Principal, Landscape Architect
A registered member with the British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects, Fiona has over 14 years landscape architecture experience in both private practice and local government settings in the US and Canada. As the principal of Outland Design, Fiona oversees the vision and direction for the company, and is responsible for business development. She has extensive experience in the realm of landscape architectural construction projects, having been contract administrator for several construction projects in the Okanagan, maintains close working relationships with the consulting community in the Interior of British Columbia and will confidently work with you and her design team to achieve your project goals and objectives.
Prior to her undertaking consultancy work with a private design practice, she held the position of Parks Planner with the Regional District of Central Okanagan Parks & Recreation Department, where she was responsible for the acquisition, planning, design and development of parks and recreation facilities for one of the province's largest unincorporated communities. Fiona also has in-depth knowledge of local government legislation and community planning processes.
When not working on landscape architectural projects, Fiona enjoys spending time with her family, has traveled extensively through North America and Europe and enjoys running marathons.
